Enzyme Commission Number
EC 3.4.17.2
Product Overview
Recombinant carboxypeptidase B is specially used for the hydrolysis of protein C-terminal basic amino acids (lysine, arginine, histidine), also known as peptidyl-L-lysine (L-arginine) hydrolase or protase. The isoelectric point is 5.9, and the optimum pH is 7.5-9.0. The activity is competitively inhibited by arginine and lysine, metal ion chelating agents such as EDTA inhibit enzyme activity.
