Amino Acid Detection

Amino acids are the basic substances that constitute proteins. The molecular structure contains two functional groups, basic amino groups and acidic carboxyl groups, and there are about 20 common amino acids. After protein hydrolysis, the obtained amino acids are all α-amino acids. The metabolism of amino acids produced by proteolysis in the body includes two aspects. On the one hand, it is mainly used to synthesize the proteins, peptides and other nitrogen-containing substances. On the other hand, it can be decomposed into α-keto acids, amines and carbon dioxide through deamination, transamination, combined deamination or decarboxylation.

Amino acid detection and analysis is a basic tool in drug analysis of proteins, peptides and other amino acids. Amino acid detection allows quantitative and qualitative analysis of the amino acid composition of the sample, and enables the determination of atypical amino acids that may be present in proteins and peptides. Creative Biogene uses the combination of two platforms, GC-MS and LC-MS-MS, which can realize the quantitative and qualitative analysis of more than 70 amino acids and their derivatives, and 95% of the substances involved are quantified using standard and isotope standards.

Application of Amino Acid Detection

Amino acids are directly involved in the metabolism of the human body. In addition to synthesizing tissue proteins, amino acids also turn into acids, hormones, antibodies, creatine and other ammonia-containing substances. They are the most important functional substances in life activities and participate in biological processes such as energy metabolism, immune regulation, endocrine regulation and signal transduction. In clinical medicine, amino acids are closely related to obesity, tumor, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease and nervous system disease. Amino acid detection services make these studies easier to do.
