High-quality enzyme products.
Well-established quality management system.
Reaction
(2E,6E)-farnesoate + [reduced NADPH—hemoprotein reductase] + O2 = juvenile-hormone-III carboxylate + [oxidized NADPH—hemoprotein reductase] + H2O
Systematic Name
(2E,6E)-farnesoate,[reduced NADPH—hemoprotein reductase]:oxygen oxidoreductase
Function
A cytochrome P-450 (heme-thiolate) protein. The enzyme, found in Lepidoptera (moths and butterflies), is specific for farnesoate (cf. EC 1.14.14.127, methyl farnesoate epoxidase). It is involved in the synthesis of juvenile hormone.
