MBS-1981
CAS No.
Enzyme Commission Number
EC 3.1.1.-
Product Overview
Recombinant α(2-3,6,8,9) Sialidase is derived from Arthrobacter ureafaciens and expressed by E.coli. This enzyme can hydrolyze glycoproteins and oligosaccharides through a2-3, a2-6, a2-8 and a2-9 The bonded sialic acid hydrolyzes the a2-3 and a2-6 bonds faster than the a2-8 and a2-9 bonds.

 Description

Sialidase, also known as neuraminidase, is an enzyme that catalyzes the removal of sialic acid residues from glycoproteins and glycolipids. Sialic acids are a family of nine-carbon sugars that are typically found at the terminal ends of glycan chains on the cell surface and on secreted glycoproteins. Sialidase plays a crucial role in various biological processes and has important applications in medicine and biotechnology.
